The region and the environment :
Souto Casteu is located 15 minutes north of Aix en Provence, at the gateway to the Luberon (Lourmarin, Cucuron, and Bonnieux) and not far from the Verdon gorges (Sainte-Croix or Esparron lake), the heart of the Green Provence, but also 35 minutes from the nearest beaches (Carry Le Rouet, La Ciotat, Le Rove, Ensues la Redonne...)
The village is nestled in the valley of the Durance, at the foot of a feudal castle which dominates the village from the top of a rock. Strategically located, Meyrargues offers you both the picturesque Provencal scenery and the countryside near Aix en Provence. You reach the Souto Casteu house by a small alley leading to the castle, in the heart of the village.
The accommodation :
Souto Casteu House:
The house is divided into 2 parts. Souto Casteu 1, the small house and Souto Casteu 2, the big house.
Access is via the alley, and a staircase leading to the porch between the two houses.
On the left Souto Casteu 1 and on the right Souto Casteu 2, each with its own private terrace. At the back of the house, a footpath leads to the hiking trails.
Souto casteu 1 (2pers.) has a surface area of approximately 35 m2 and consists of a terrace covered by a barked wooden pergola and canisses, garden furniture and barbecue. There is an entrance hall with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen (kettle, microwave, washing machine) and on the first floor a double bedroom with a shower room and toilet.
Souto Casteu 2 (4 pers.), has a terrace in the inner courtyard in front of the entrance of the house with garden furniture, a wooden deck with a small swimming pool (2x2 m), a relaxation area under a canisse pergola, and garden.
With a surface area of about 105 m2, on 3 levels, it is composed of an entrance hall with a large mezzanine living room with TV, a living room with an office area and a dining area for 6 people, and a bright kitchen.
On the first floor, a bedroom with a double bed (140x190) and cupboards, a shower room (shower, washbasin and toilet).
On the second floor, a large 30m2 suite with direct access to the garden, with a double bed (160x200), a dressing room and a shower room (shower, washbasin and toilet)
On the roof you have a terrace with a starry observatory where you can stroll or redo the world. The house being in height you benefit from a superb sight on the village and the beginning of Luberon.
3 parking spaces are available at 3 minutes walk from the house. Attention to the elderly or people with reduced mobility because of the many stairs.
Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, multifunctional oven, microwave, large fridge with freezer compartment, 4-burner induction hob and extractor hood. Plenty of storage space, kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery
