Description
The villa is located on the island of Ios and features Cycladic-style architecture, designed by the Greek painter Yannis Gaïtis, offering a unique blend of art, architecture, and nature. The interior is decorated with Gaïtis’ own artworks and furniture, and a museum dedicated to him is under construction at the top of the village. From the port of Ios, guests can take a bus to the Petradi Hotel stop, followed by a 5–10 minute walk down steps leading to the villa.
This property is not accessible by car. You will reach the apartment via a pathway with approximately 10–15 minutes of stairs from the nearest street. Trash disposal must be done on foot, as you are kindly asked to carry your waste to the street yourselves.
The villa provides direct foot access to two beaches: a small, quiet one below the property and the popular Milopotas Beach, about 10 minutes away.
The village of Ios offers essential services such as a town hall, health center, pharmacy, post office, doctors, and a dentist. There are bakeries, butchers, small grocery stores, and medium-sized supermarkets, including Rollan in the village and Aegean Market at the port.
Ios is known for its golden sandy beaches, including Milopotas, Kolitsani, Koumbara, famous for its sunsets, Manganari, Agia Theodoti, Psathi, and Plakoto. Boat rentals at the port allow access to secluded coves such as Sapounochoma, Klima, and Tripiti. Excellent restaurants can be found throughout the island, including To Katoyi and Agosto in the village, Drakos seafood restaurant at Milopotas Beach, Ithaka and Dodoni ice cream parlor at the port, Chez Maria by the sea at Koumbara, and Alonistra at Psathi. Popular spots for coffee or drinks include H Nios and Agora Café in the village, Ios Club and Garden of Ios for sunset cocktails, and Valsamo Bar for evening drinks.
For spa treatments and massages, guests can visit Liostasi Hotel, located between the port and village, or Ios Palace Hotel on Milopotas Beach. Points of interest on the island include the churches of Panagia Gremiotisa and Agia Irini, Homer’s Tomb, Paleokastro, and the Gaïtis Museum, which is under development.
